What a wonderful week...

We  had a full uninterrupted week of school and it was wonderful. Lots of time for learning, socializing, and growing as a team.

We started our week off right with an extra gym block on Monday because the kids had earned their class incentive. The class incentive was started several weeks ago as a motivation to work together as a team. Whenever students get a compliment from a specialist or have a great learning block I throw a few pom poms in a jar. When the jar is filled the class can vote on and activity they would like to do together. This time they chose extra gym. I was amazed at how well they played together and chose games without arguing. This is truly an exceptional class when it comes to working together in a kind considerate way.

Literature Circle Discussions are really going well. The students have improved their ability to join in a group discussion respectfully and the conversations as I listen in are such high level. We are continuing our read aloud of " because of Mr. Terupt" and the students are still loving it. Many students are already talking about books 2 and 3 of the series.

On Friday we played some great team building games. Ask your child about the "match up" game, and solving the mystery of the Roanoke.

This coming week we will be taking our Earth Systems benchmark on Wednesday. Your child has several study materials. Visit the Science tab if you need help assisting them.
